New National Gallery

Duration April 8, 2005 - April 8, 2005

Location New National Gallery

Made possible by the Association of Friends of the National Gallery in cooperation with the ZfL / Center for Literary Research.

With a performance in Mies van der Rohe's glass temple of modern architecture, the artist Vanessa Beecroft, who was born in Genoa in 1969 and now lives in New York, is fulfilling a long-standing dream. The theme of her performances is the female body; In particular, she stages his nudity in ever new tableaux vivants. The viewer experiences a change between distant observation and voyeurism. This interplay is further enhanced by the transparent architecture of the National Gallery. In a three-hour performance in the upper hall, the Berlin performance will be realized with the largest number of models to date.
