THE SUBSIDIARIES OF THE FRIENDS OF THE NATIONAL GALLERY

The increasingly diverse activities of the Friends to promote the National Gallery - and associated with it the State Museums in Berlin - today require an expanded structure.

In 1996, “Hamburger Bahnhof Veranstaltungsgesellschaft mbH” was founded as the first subsidiary. In 2003 it expanded its field of activity to include all 17 museums and has since operated as “Museum & Location Event Company of the National Museums in Berlin mbH”. Companies and private individuals can rent the rooms of the Berlin State Museums from Museum & Location for events and guided tours outside of regular opening hours. 100% of the surplus flows into the museums' exhibition budget.

In 2005, “Museum & Service Betriebsgesellschaft der Staatliche Börsen zu Berlin mbH” was founded, which provides services related to exhibition organization, such as its own visitor management system, museum shop concepts for special exhibitions, the Live!Speaker projects as well as project-related visitor services and tour services .
