With the traditional reception of the “National Gallery Prize” as part of the opening of the current Venice Biennale, the prize enters its hot phase. The exhibition of the four award winners opens after the award ceremony by the Minister of State for Culture on June 6, 2024 at Hamburger Bahnhof.
This year, Pan Daijing, Dan Lie, Hanne Lippard and James Richards will receive the 12th Nationalgalerie Prize, which will be awarded jointly to four artists for the first time. The new format takes up the idea of the exhibition as a collective exchange and aims to expand the Nationalgalerie's collection through the purchase of the four new productions.
