The work “Man putting Finger into his Finger” from 2004 was acquired by Johannes Kahrs. The wounded, lying body is depicted without any context; The strange perspective underlines that the kaleidoscope of usual reference points has been hidden and a kind of standstill has occurred in the image. The gray background creates a strangeness that creates a puzzle in the picture that we know the viewer cannot solve. The violent treatment of the man depicted is clearly visible, but at the same time the condition is abstracted and the absence of an event gives the picture something of aloofness. Kahrs always works with templates from cinema, advertising and media. He never decides on the situation that is depicted, but for him only the image itself is decisive. That is why the message in our work is enigmatic and not really present. Through the artificial composition, which is a quote from Goya and Manet, the picture refers to the existence of violence in every century and in every society.
