In the fourth edition of our workshop discussion, Rebecca Casati speaks to Claudia Wieser in her studio in Berlin.
The artist Claudia Wieser (*1973; Freilassing) is known for her from modernity, by artists such as Wassily Kandinsky and Paul Klee or the Bauhaus, geometric compositions and room installations. Her works include drawings, paintings, tapestries, installations and objects. Wieser studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and completed an apprenticeship as an art smithy, which shaped her approach in the design of her sculptural works from hand -glazed ceramics. Your work was already seen in international individual exhibitions. Wieser's first public exterior installation was created in 2021 in the Brooklyn Bridge Park, New York, on behalf of the public Art Fund. Since June 2024, a work by the artist has been part of the "Endless Exhibition" in Hamburg's train station.
