Following the 47th ordinary general meeting, around 500 FRIENDS met for the traditional annual dinner in the upper hall of the Neue Nationalgalerie. This year's dinner speaker was Prof. Dr. Norbert Palz, President of the University of the Arts. In his twenty-minute speech, he spoke impressively about the challenges and problems that have affected our cultural institutions in recent years and which will continue to exist. He emphasized the importance of democracy, civil courage and solidarity as fundamental principles that are important for both the university and institutions such as the Nationalgalerie in order to find a constructive path into the future. These principles are interrelated and mutually dependent.
After the main course, this year's badge of honor was awarded to the "association photographer" Monika Wulff and the art collector Paul Maenz to great applause. The atmospheric evening ended well after midnight.
In the spirit of sustainability, the beautiful flowers from Blumen Koch found individual FRIENDS late at night, who took care of them and took the splendor of color home with them.
